There
are four types of projects you can lead during your Corps experience. Each project spans
three months and requires an average weekly commitment
of three hours. (Two
of those hours will require you to visit your client during
normal business hours.)
.
See below for a
summary of each project type.
.
Project
Type #1: Operational
Analysis
During
your first Corps project you will work with a client team
that is not achieving its goals. You will ask probing
questions, analyze their feedback, and lead meetings to help
your team brainstorm new ideas. Your problem-solving,
communication, and facilitation skills will be enhanced
through this experience.
.
Project
Type #2: Change Implementation
Next,
you
will lead a client team that desires to implement an improvement to one of
its organizational activities. In this role you will analyze, budget,
plan, coordinate, and evaluate a modest change-effort. This experience will enhance
your communication, organization, and analytical abilities.
.
Project
Type #3: Managerial
Coaching
You
will work intimately with a group of managers who want to increase their
leadership effectiveness. You will teach them a practical approach
for organizing, monitoring, and delegating work
to their teams. Then you will provide ongoing support as they implement this approach. Your presentation,
mentoring, and communication skills will be enhanced through this
experience.
.
Project
Type #4: Strategy Analysis
You
will assist executives as they
develop long-term goals for their
organization. You will then help them prioritize their goals and
create an organizational success plan. Your
communication, analytical, and team-building skills will be developed
through this experience.
