Deciding
to participate in our consulting program requires much consideration.
Hopefully, the below 'frequently asked questions' (and answers) will
help you with your decision. (If you decide our program is a
good fit for your needs, click here to complete
our on-line
application).
.
1.
Are there consulting projects available in my area?
Yes!
Our approach is to first identify talented professionals from across
the country who desire to participate in our program. Then we identify
local non-profits and small businesses that will be less than a
20-minute commute for our professionals. In summary, we organize
volunteer consulting opportunities for professionals in all
areas of the country!
.
2.
Will
my Corps experience really help me get the job I want or admission into
the graduate school of my choice?
Absolutely! Because your
Corps
experience will be dynamic and community-oriented, your
candidacy will be extremely memorable for hiring executives and/or admissions
officers. So, if
you are looking for unique methods to differentiate your
applications,
this is your ideal opportunity!
.
3.
Do
I need a business background to join the Corps?
A
business background is helpful for understanding our analytical consulting
approaches. However, it is not a requirement
for admission into our program. You must, however, possess a bachelor's degree (in any major or
concentration) and have at least three years of professional work experience. In addition, you should possess
great communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to analyze
both financial and non-financial information. By possessing
these skills and exhibiting great dedication to your client you will
achieve a rewarding Corps experience.
.
4. How much of a time commitment should I expect?
You should expect to dedicate an
average of three hours per week over a course of three months
toward your project. You will visit your client
(at their offices during normal business hours) for approximately
two of these hours. Then, for the remaining
hour or so you will analyze and prepare project materials at a time and place of your choosing.
.
5.
Do
I need to involve my employer in my decision to join?
No.
However, the more support you receive from your employer, the easier
it will be for you to manage your work and project responsibilities.
